Nominated Supervisor, Diploma in Children’s Services and Bachelor in Early Childhood Studies

I have been a part of the Early Childhood sector since 2004. I have been a room assistant when I first obtained my Certificate III in Children’s Services and then was offered a room leader position. This is when I realised that the early childhood sector was my calling and pursued my Diploma in Children’s Services and a Bachelor in Early Childhood Studies. Through my journey, I became a director of a large centre and continued on my career path of becoming an Area manager of nine centres where I mentored, guided and offered support to the Nominated Supervisors and Directors.

I have a passion and a drive to motivate Educators to teach our children the importance of play and understanding of their natural environment. I believe that the first few years of children’s lives are the most crucial and this is the reason why I chose the early childhood field as my profession to be a part of their growth, learning and development.

Everyday coming to Alkira ELC is a fun and exciting day, the Educators are so dedicated and show so much passion in providing our young children with the best education we can offer.

My goal as Nominated Supervisor at Alkira ELC is to ensure that all of our children, families, staff and the wider community feel safe and secure within our environment but most of all feel welcome and part of our family.

2IC

Hi, I’m Elyse! I’ve been working in the early childhood education field for over seven years, and it’s truly where my passion lies. I completed my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care in 2019, and went on to begin my Diploma the following year. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to grow my career here at Alkira ELC- starting as a Room Leader, then stepping into a Responsible Person role, and in 2024 proudly becoming the 2IC.

Working with children has always been incredibly rewarding for me. I love being part of their early learning journey – watching them explore, develop new skills, and gain confidence each day. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with all age groups, but my favourite age group would have to be our 0–3 year olds. There’s something so special about supporting babies and toddlers as they hit those important first milestones – from their first steps and words to learning to communicate and play alongside others.

I believe in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment where children feel valued and excited to learn. Building strong, trusting relationships with families is also very important to me, as we work together to give each child the best possible start in life.

I’m so proud to be part of the Alkira ELC team and to help create a positive, caring space where every child can thrive!

Educational Leader

My journey in Early Childhood Education began in 2015 where I completed my certificate III in Early Childhood Education and the following year my Diploma. It was during this time that I found I had a passion for educating children throughout their early years.

Throughout my time in the industry, I have been lucky enough to gain experience with all age groups, particularly in the 3-5 years. As my experience and passion grew, I developed a passion for mentoring and supporting others in feeling confident in their abilities as educators and providing high quality care and education. I have been able to explore and grow in my skills within my role as Educational Leader, here at Alkira ELC.

Within my role as Educational leader, I not only oversee the planning, implementation and documentation of the learning that goes on at Alkira ELC. I support and mentor our team in their practices, knowledge and documentation as well as provide them with the opportunity to do additional training and professional development to create an environment and program that enriches the learning and development of our children. I strongly believe all children deserve to enjoy their early years in a safe and secure environment, which starts with us. I am passionate about my role and the influence we have as educations in the lives of our children and families here at Alkira ELC.

Children are creative and curious learners, and I can only hope that as an educator I am able to bring this out of children and help them to feel comfortable to explore, research and discover their place within their community.
